Straße.
man bekommt sogar ein frühstück, ein tshirt und einen “designer faltocker” als belohnung für diesen lesenden einsatz.

looks like the camp bestival really is going to be fun! they have so many funny events and activities. it’s going to be wired, in a good way.
i just wrote about TechCrunch Pitch! (sun was one of their sponsors) and about one of the pitching startups: zendesk, which is a ticketsystem (helpdesk, taskmanager, whatever) hosted on their servers. sounds very hassle-free to me.
i really like the way startups design their web sites these days: short introduction + video tour = no boring homepage. … but i guess that’s because most of them just have one core business /product.

Vom 29. bis 31. August findet die jährliche Veranstaltung Folklore im Wiesbadener Schlachthof statt: Folklore Wiesbaden
Ich erinnere mich noch, dass ich da vor Jahren mal war. Ich glaube aber nur ein oder zweimal. Damals fand die Veranstaltung noch in diesem riesigen Garten /Park statt, und es gab einen riesigen Campingbereich und einen angrenzenden Wald. Diesmal im Schlachthof, direkt am Wiesbadener Hauptbahnhof.
Das Lineup sieht nicht zu übel aus:
The Amber Light – Roman Fischer – Sportfreunde Stiller – Rummelsnuff – Mediengruppe Telekommander – Abuela Coca – Get Well Soon – Blackmail – The Kilians – The Sweet Vandals – Stereo Total – The Apples
Zelten wird dieses Jahr nicht erlaubt sein, da Baustellen vor Ort. Anscheinend haben die FolkloreLeute for 2 Jahren die Location gewechselt (?) und sind seit dem nicht mehr im Garten sondern im Schlachter.
Eintrittspreise: FR: 8,00 / SA: 7,00 / SO: 5,00
ich werde in “3 wochen – 2 tagen” wieder daheim sein und da daheim nur 25km von Wiesbaen entfernt ist, werde ich mir das vermutlich nicht entgehen lassen.
Sportfreunde und Mediengruppe spielen beide Freitag Abend (21:00 und 0:00). Somit ist Freitag Pflichtprogramm. Die anderen Bands sind mir eher unbekannt aber ich könnte mir auch gut vorstellen dort an mehreren Tagen vorbeizuschauen.

genau so viele menschen duerfen heute abend dem konzert lauschen. die zahl, in anlehnung an mandelas gefaengnisnummer, ist der name des heutigen events im hyde park, london.
Artists set to perform at this special event include Queen + Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Jerry Dammers, Amy Winehouse, Sugababes, Dame Shirley Bassey, Razorlight, Leona Lewis, Jamelia and Eminem. It will be hosted by Will Smith. Oprah Winfrey is also confirmed to make an appearance.
weitere ueberraschungsgaeste werden erwartet. ich bin gespannt was da heute abend alles ab geht.
ich werde mit einer kollegin (rosana, spanien) naemlich heute abend live dabei sein! Leider hat es eben ein wenig geregnet und auch heute abend koennte es wettertechnisch etwas unschoen enden.

am freitag gehe ich mit der spanischen abreitskollegin zu nelson mandelas 90 tem geburtstags konzert, welches anlaesslich der aids hilfe veranstaltet wird. 46664 zuschauer werden sich im hyde park versammeln (jedenfalls gab es so viele tickets, in anlehnung an den namen der charity organisation).

ABOUT THE CONCERT
6th June 2008 – Multi-million selling classical pop singer Josh Groban, legendary folk rock singer Joan Baez, and a special appearance by Jerry Dammers, one of the organisers of Artists Against Apartheid and Nelson Mandela’s 70th birthday concert and whose song ‘Free Nelson Mandela’ became a banner for the 80’s anti-apartheid movement in UK, are further highlights added to the forthcoming Nelson Mandela 90th birthday concert.
The announcement comes only a week after singer Amy Winehouse confirmed she was adding her voice to those who will show their support for Mr Mandela and his 46664 organisation by taking part.
The three newly confirmed artists will join a performance line-up that already includes Queen + Paul Rodgers, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Leona Lewis, Sugababes, Dame Shirley Bassey and Razorlight, along with more than a dozen of Africa’s most highly regarded artists including Johnny Clegg, Soweto Gospel Choir and Papa Wemba.
President Bill Clinton, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro, Forest Whitaker and Lewis Hamilton will also be in attendance.
Concert proceeds will go to the 46664 campaign which raises awareness about the impact of AIDS, especially in Africa, and promotes effective HIV prevention measures throughout the world.
Mr. Mandela said: “You all know that I am supposed to be retired but my friends and the charitable organisations that bear my name want to use my 90th birthday year to raise funds to continue our work and so of course I want to help them. So, we have a bargain – I am going to London and they will host a concert in Hyde Park, which will raise awareness of our continuing work and much needed funds.”
As his final public engagement, Mr. Mandela’s appearance at the concert is sure to be emotional. His message is that we can all help to carry on his work: “It’s in our hands”.

An meiner Hochschule findet heute der Intelligent Web Day statt.
Sehr interessante Thematik aber ich kann leider nicht teilnehmen, bin ja im Praxissemester in England.
Aber was mich schon etwas verwundert ist, dass die Homepage zu diesem Event, welches sich um Semantik dreht, die wichtigsten Daten (Vorträge, Zeiten, Themen, Referenten) als Bild darstellt. Sehr semantisch…

Gestern (Donnerstag) war ich beim angekuendigten Event: Sun Fun.
Es war wirklich eine Menge Fun! Um 17 Uhr bin ich mit 4 weiteren Teamkollegen zu einer Privatschule gefahren. Der Garten / Wald / was auch immer, dieser Schule war der Austragungsort des diesjaehrigen Sun Fun Events.
Wir waren als Team “Web Monkeys” angemeldet. Neben uns gab es noch 5 weitere Teams (jeweils 5 Mitglieder), welche unsere Wettkampfs-Gegner darstellten.
Wir begannen mit einem Parkour (Ueber Sachen klettern, durch Roehren durch kriechen, im Grunde ein Drill-Parkour wie man ihn von Army Filmen kennt). Gemessen wurde die benoetigte Zeit, bis das komplette Team im Ziel angelangte.
